What's included in every weekly visit

A visit is mow, trim, edge, blow, and a property walk. Here's exactly what that covers each week from April through November.

Headline inclusion

Precision mowing

Cut at the optimal 3-3.5" height for cool-season turf, with sharp blades replaced weekly.

Pattern variation

Pattern variation

We rotate mowing direction weekly to prevent ruts, soil compaction, and grain.

String trimming

Clean lines around fences, beds, mailboxes, AC units, and play sets.

Hard-surface edging

Crisp vertical edges along driveways, sidewalks, and curbs every visit.

Complete blowdown

All clippings cleared from drives, walks, patios, and decks before we leave.

Property walk

Quick visual scan for storm damage, irrigation leaks, and turf issues we should flag.

Pet-waste avoidance

We pause and reroute around pet waste rather than slinging it across the yard.

Photo updates

Optional after-photos sent on request, great for absentee owners and HOA boards.

Deep dive

Why cutting height makes or breaks a Central Ohio lawn

Most Central Ohio lawns are cool-season grasses: tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, and perennial ryegrass blends. We cut at 3 to 3.5 inches because that's the height that encourages deeper roots, shades out crabgrass and broadleaf weed seeds, and helps your lawn retain moisture through July and August heat. Cutting short might 'buy time' between visits, but it stresses the turf, browns the tips, and opens the door for weeds and disease. Our weekly cadence and consistent height policy is exactly why our customers' lawns look thicker year after year.

Why it matters

Spring and summer mowing strategy

Spring growth in Central Ohio is explosive, sometimes 2 inches of growth in a single week during April and May. We never violate the one-third rule (never remove more than a third of the blade in one cut) because doing so triggers shock and yellowing. During peak spring flush we may double-cut or stagger visit timing. By mid-summer growth slows; we adjust pattern and frequency to keep the lawn looking sharp without scalping during heat stress. A fixed calendar can't handle that. A crew that watches the growth rate can.

Trimming and edging that sharpens the whole property

Detail work is where most mowing services cut corners. We don't. Every visit includes string trimming around every bed, fence, post, AC condenser, mailbox, downspout, and play set, at the same height as the mower so the lawn reads as one continuous surface. We vertical-edge driveways, walks, and curb lines with steel-blade edgers (not weed whips on their side) so the line between hardscape and turf stays sharp and intentional all season.

§

Equipment and crews built for consistency

Our crews run commercial zero-turn and stand-on mowers maintained on a strict rotation. Blades are sharpened weekly. Dull blades shred grass blades and leave brown tips that ruin the appearance of an otherwise healthy lawn. Trimmers and edgers are gas-powered for serious power on tall grass and battery-powered for noise-sensitive HOAs and early-morning commercial sites. Crews are trained and uniformed, led by experienced foremen who own the result on your property.

What proactive communication looks like

Weather can disrupt any week's schedule. When rain pushes us off our regular day, we communicate proactively: text or email confirming the new day, usually within 24 hours of the original visit. We don't ghost. We also flag turf issues we notice (compaction, disease, drought stress) so you can decide whether to add aeration, fertilization, or other services. That visibility is part of the service.

Frequently asked

Lawn Mowing, answered.

Real questions from real Central Ohio customers. If yours isn't here, you have three fast ways to reach us.

01

How often do you mow?

Weekly is our standard cadence through the growing season (typically April through November in Central Ohio). Bi-weekly is available on a case-by-case basis for properties that genuinely don't need weekly attention.

02

Do you bag clippings?

We mulch-mow by default, which returns nitrogen and organic matter to the soil. Bagging is available as an add-on for an additional fee, most useful in heavy spring flush weeks or for properties with strict clean-cut standards.

03

Can I get plant bed weed control without mowing service?

No. Plant bed weed control is sold only with an active mowing signup, per our service agreement. The crew chemically sprays weeds in open plant areas on the same weekly visit as the mow, which is what keeps beds consistently clean instead of treated once and forgotten.

04

What if it rains on my scheduled day?

We push to the next dry day, usually within 24 to 48 hours, and we'll text or email a confirmation of the new day. We don't skip visits. If a week gets fully rained out, we double-cut at the next visit and adjust the schedule.

05

Will the same crew always mow my property?

Yes, we route by territory, so the same lead crew and foreman will be on your property week after week. Consistency is how we keep quality high.

06

Do you offer one-time mowing?

We focus on seasonal recurring service because that's how lawns stay healthy. One-time mowing is available case-by-case (for example, before a property sale), typically at a premium.

07

How do you handle pet waste?

We pause and route around pet waste rather than mowing through it. If you have a fenced yard with a lot of activity, we recommend doing a quick sweep before our scheduled day.

08

Can you mow commercial properties too?

Absolutely. See our commercial maintenance and HOA & community landscaping services for properties that need contracted, board-ready scope.

09

Do you service my city?

We service Lewis Center, Dublin, Powell, Hilliard, Westerville, Delaware, Columbus, and most communities inside the I-270 loop. Check our service areas page or call (614) 210-1194 to confirm.
