Spring & Fall Cleanup
Seasonal resets that protect your lawn and beds: debris cleared, beds prepped, and your property staged for the season ahead.
Professional spring & fall cleanup for Columbus, Ohio properties.
Seasonal transitions are when a landscape takes its damage: leaf mats that smother turf, storm debris, winter kill in the beds. Our spring and fall cleanups clear all of it, cut back spent growth, and prep beds and lawns for the season ahead. Done on time, two cleanups a year are the cheapest preventive maintenance in landscaping.
- Full debris removal: branches, leaves, dead growth, winter damage
- Bed cleanout, with perennials and ornamental grasses cut back each fall
- Lawn surface clearing for healthy spring or winter conditions
- Hard surface cleanup: drives, walks, patios blown clean
- All debris removed and hauled off site

28+ years caring for Central Ohio properties.
What's covered in a seasonal cleanup
Both spring and fall cleanups follow the same checklist, adjusted for what the season demands.
Property walk
Crew walks the entire property (lawn, beds, borders, walks, drives) to scope what's needed.

Branch & storm debris
Fallen branches, sticks, and winter or storm debris collected from across the property.
Lawn clearing
Remaining leaves and dead grass cleared with rakes and blowers so turf can breathe.
Bed cleanout
Beds raked clear of leaves, dead annuals, and last year's plant debris.
Perennial & grass cutback
Spent perennials and ornamental grasses cut back each fall at the height each species overwinters best.
Winter-damage triage
Snow mold, vole trails, and salt damage flagged with recommended next steps.
Hard-surface blowdown
Drives, walks, patios, and decks blown free of leaves and debris.
Hauled off site
All debris loaded and hauled off site the same visit. Piled for compost or city pickup only if you ask.

Spring cleanup: reset the property for the growing season
After a Central Ohio winter, your property needs attention. Our spring cleanup includes thorough removal of fallen branches and winter storm debris, raking and clearing of remaining leaves from lawns and beds, cutback of last year's dead perennial material, addressing winter damage (snow mold, vole trails, salt damage), and prepping beds for spring growth. This is the visit that sets up everything else for the season. Fertilization, edging, mulching, and mowing all work better on cleared ground.
Fall cleanup: protect the lawn through winter
Fall cleanup is about protecting your lawn and landscape through dormancy. We remove accumulated leaves from lawns, beds, and hard surfaces, critical because a thick leaf layer smothers grass and promotes snow mold and other fungal diseases. We cut back all perennials and ornamental grasses at the right height for winter survival, clear garden beds of dead plant material that harbors overwintering pests, and remove debris that could cause water or drainage problems before winter freeze sets in. Every load is hauled off site.

Why skipping cleanups costs you more later
A skipped cleanup costs more than it saves. Leaves left on grass through winter create dead spots, smother turf, and promote snow mold that surfaces in spring as gray-pink patches. Dead plant material in beds harbors insects, fungal spores, and rodents. Debris in gutters and against foundations can cause water damage. Beds full of last year's growth burn through fertilizer before this year's plants ever see it. Two cleanup visits per year is the cheapest preventive maintenance there is.
Coordinating cleanups with your other services
Spring cleanup is best scheduled right before mulching and edging. It clears the canvas. Fall cleanup pairs naturally with the final fertilization application and post-aeration leaf control. We sequence multi-service properties so each visit builds on the last, and you only pay for one mobilization. If you're on our maintenance program, cleanups can be quoted as part of the annual contract or as standalone visits.
Leaf strategy for properties with mature trees
If your property is wooded or has mature oaks, maples, or sycamores, fall leaves are not a one-visit problem. Leaves at that volume are their own service. Our dedicated leaf removal clears turf and landscape beds in staged passes, typically two across late October and November as trees drop in waves. The goal is never letting leaf depth reach the point of suffocating turf or matting in beds. For HOA and commercial properties we build leaf control into the maintenance schedule so it's never a 'special trip.'
Get on the schedule before the windows fill
Spring cleanups land late March to mid-April as the ground firms up. Fall cleanups run October through early December once leaf drop is meaningful. Both windows fill weeks in advance. Book early to lock in a date.
Get on the schedule- Spring cleanup pairs with mulching for the biggest visible reset
- Fall cleanup paired with aeration protects new seed and stored energy
- HOA and commercial properties served on contracted schedules
Spring and fall cleanup are booked separately, or as a pair
Each cleanup is its own line item on your quote, with its own scope. Book the one your season calls for, or lock in both and we hold your spot in each window.
Spring cleanup
All beds cleaned of leaves, dead plant material, sticks, and any unwanted material. Everything removed and hauled off site so the landscape starts the season debris and disease free.
Fall cleanup
Bed cleanout plus cutting back all perennials and ornamental grasses before winter. Every scrap of debris removed and hauled off site.
Add leaf removal
Heavy canopy? Whole-yard leaf clearing from turf and beds is its own service, often two passes across November.

Spring & Fall Cleanup, answered.
Real questions from real Central Ohio customers. If yours isn't here, you have three fast ways to reach us.
01When should I schedule spring cleanup?
We typically begin spring cleanups in late March as soon as the ground firms up and run through mid-April. Booking 2 to 3 weeks ahead is usually enough to lock in your preferred week.
02When should fall cleanup happen?
We recommend scheduling between late October and early December, once most of your trees have dropped leaves. Wooded properties usually pair fall cleanup with our dedicated leaf removal service. Leaves at volume are their own job, often two passes across November.
03Is this a one-time service or recurring?
Either. Many customers schedule both spring and fall as annual recurring services, billed twice a year. Single-visit cleanups are also welcome. Pricing is the same.
04What do you do with the debris?
Everything is removed and hauled off site. That's the standard scope for both cleanups. If you'd rather we pile leaves curbside for city pickup or stack debris for your compost, just say so when you book.
05Do you do gutter cleaning?
Standard cleanup doesn't include gutter work for safety and insurance reasons, but we can recommend gutter-specialist partners and coordinate scheduling.
06Can I bundle cleanup with mulch and edging?
Yes. Spring cleanup + edging + mulch is our most popular bundle. We sequence the work in one mobilization so you only pay for one trip-charge.
07What about storm cleanup after a big windstorm?
We prioritize existing customers for storm response. Same-week scheduling is often available for properties already on our mowing or maintenance program.
08Do you do commercial cleanups too?
Yes. See our commercial maintenance and HOA & community landscaping services for contracted seasonal scope.
