Deep dive

Why low-voltage is the right system

Modern landscape lighting runs on safe 12-volt power stepped down by a transformer, not line voltage. That means safer installation around people, pets, and plantings, easier future adjustments, and fixtures that can be repositioned as your landscape matures. Paired with LED lamps, a low-voltage system draws a fraction of the power of older halogen setups while lasting far longer, so you get more light for less cost over the life of the system.

Why it matters

Safety and security are part of the design

Good lighting design balances looks and function. Uplighting and accenting carry the drama, but the same system makes your property safer and more secure: lit walkways prevent missteps, lit entries welcome guests, and a well-lit exterior is far less appealing to anyone who'd rather operate in the dark. We design for both, so the system earns its keep every single night.

Built for Central Ohio winters
In the field

Built for Central Ohio winters

Ohio freeze-thaw cycles are hard on cheap fixtures. We install commercial-grade, corrosion-resistant fixtures and bury wiring to protect it through the seasons. Transformers are sized with headroom so you can expand the system later, and connections are made to last, not the push-in clips that fail after the first hard winter.

§

Designed to grow with your landscape

A lighting system isn't static. As trees grow and you add beds, patios, or features, the lighting can evolve with it. Because we plan transformer capacity and zoning up front, adding fixtures down the road is straightforward. Many clients start with a facade-and-path package and expand into tree accents and patio lighting over time.

Great Year-Round

Lighting pays off every season

Outdoor lighting is one of the few upgrades that delivers all year. Longer winter nights make a lit property especially welcome from fall through spring. Installations can happen in nearly any season as long as the ground isn't frozen solid.

Investment

Scaled to your home and goals

Pricing depends on fixture count, wiring runs, and control options. Most homeowners start with a facade-and-path package and expand over time.

  • Itemized line-by-line proposal
  • Quote turnaround in 24 to 48 hours
  • No hidden fees, no surprise upcharges

We size transformers with headroom, so expanding the system later is a much smaller job than the first install.

Frequently asked

Outdoor Lighting, answered.

Real questions from real Central Ohio customers. If yours isn't here, you have three fast ways to reach us.

01

Is low-voltage lighting safe around kids and pets?

Yes. Low-voltage 12V systems are safe to handle and install around people, pets, and plantings, far safer than line-voltage alternatives.

02

How long do LED fixtures last?

Quality LED landscape lamps commonly last tens of thousands of hours, many years of nightly use before replacement.

03

Can you add to my existing system?

Usually, yes. We assess your transformer capacity and wiring, then add fixtures or zones if there's headroom.

04

Do the lights turn on automatically?

We install photocell and timer controls (or app-based options) so lights come on at dusk and shut off on your schedule.

05

Will installation tear up my yard?

Low-voltage wiring is buried shallowly with minimal disturbance. We're careful around beds and turf and clean up thoroughly.

06

What areas do you serve?

We install landscape lighting throughout Central Ohio including Lewis Center, Dublin, Powell, Westerville, Hilliard, Delaware, and Columbus.
